Is this the end of the road of Emma Muscat’s Amici adventure? Last night’s edition of the Italian talent show ended on a cliffhanger as judges postponed a decision that could see the Maltese starlet eliminated at the final hurdle. 

With only four shows to go, including the final, Amici’s judges axed four competitors early on last night, leaving Emma’s White Team and the opposing Blue Team with a handful of members each. Out of those, the judges saved four contenders – leaving Emma Muscat and young Italian singer Carmen Ferreri out in the cold. One of the judges argued that the two singers were two similar in style and that the time had come to decide which of them should progress further in the competition.  

Emma and Carmen then sang four songs each in a sing-off that lasted through the early hours of the morning. Emma’s performances including a duet with famous Italian singer Elisa and another duet with her rapper boyfriend Biondo. At the end, the singing judges voted, but there was another twist to the night as the performance judges could not reach a decision. 

With the situation deadlocked, the decision on whether to eliminate Emma or Carmen was postponed till next week. It’s now the moment of truth for Emma – will she manage to pull through?
