The news of pop superstar George Michael’s death on Christmas day was yet another devastating blow to the world this year. We’ve already mourned the deaths of David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, and Prince in 2016 – and that’s just the musicians. It’s safe to say we need a break from this string of terrible news for the music world.
As tributes poured in for the Greek-Cypriot-born pop singer from all over the world, Malta’s most poignant had to be from Red Electrick‘s lead guitarist, Peter Borg.
Borg, who is one of Malta’s most established musicians, mourned the loss of “one of the greatest voices of all time”.
Thanks George for your wonderful gift to pop music, and thanks Peter for the awesome throwback to one of the most memorable ballads of the 80s.
