It’s virtually impossible to find a music lover in 2019 who hasn’t heard of Boiler Room. If you follow pretty much any subgenre of electronic or underground music, chances are you’ve seen a couple of Boiler Room Sessions being transmitted online from some of the most happening venues in the world. After this summer, though, you’re going to be able to watch a couple transmitted from right here in Malta.

In a historic first for the islands, Boiler Room will be coming to Malta this summer for two very special days

This insane announcement comes as one of the most exciting updates in the run-up to 2019’s edition of Glitch Festival, Malta’s premier electronic music event

Still in its relative infancy, Glitch Festival has been promising its thousands of fans an explosive fourth edition, and with a massive line-up of titans including Bicep, Charlotte de Witte, Ben Klock, Palms Trax, Helena Hauff, Peggy Gou and the return of Carl Cox to the island after 13 years among so many more, you could argue the organisers have already done enough to make this year an unforgettable one. But that’s not how Glitch roll.

“Boiler Room will be hosting their own stage at Glitch,” the festival organisers told Lovin Malta. “They’ll actually be streaming live on all their platforms, on the 14th and 15th of August.”

The broadcasting giants will even have their own stage, with a list of performing artists are yet to be announced.

In such a huge and prolific industry, no one comes close to Boiler Room

With a reach of 260 million views per month, the legendary and notoriously selective music platform blows everyone out of the park. An independent music platform and cultural curator, Boiler Room connects club culture to the wider world, on screen and in real life though parties, film and video.

Although it’s only been around for nine years, Boiler Room’s Sessions have become a staple for generations of online electronic music fans, with their intimate and long clips of DJs doing their thing among animated fans sometimes being one of the first search results for the hottest names in the business.

Glitch returns this Santa Marija with one of the strongest festival line-ups Malta has ever seen

Between the 14th and 16th of August at the Gianpula Village, Glitch will be reopening the gates of the mystical House-and-Techno Fortress, with six super stages ranging from rooftop pool parties to secret cave raves.
