After yet another insane year, Glitch Festival closed 2018 off by promising its fans an even bigger fourth edition. Today, the festival unveiled its 2019 lineup… and it sure looks like they’re keeping to their word.

The star-studded lineup of disco, house, techno, acid and electro legends is hoping to attract electronic music lovers from every walk of life, and they’re bringing in one of the biggest names in the industry to win everyone over.

Among the insane list of 29 DJs, this year sees headlining sets by Ben Klock, Bicep, Charlotte De Witte, Helena Hauff… and the return of one Carl Cox

Yep; after 13 long years, British industry titan Carl Cox will be returning to Malta to bless the islands with his magic. A veteran of acid house, a champion of techno and an all-round dance music pioneer, the 56-year-old legend has been an integral part of the global scene for over four decades.

But beyond Cox’s glorious return to the islands, Glitch Festival has another 28 DJs up its sleeve for this year’s edition… and it’s as good as it gets.

Here’s the full lineup:

Glitch Line Up

Prominent names fans of the scene will instantly recognise 26-year-old starlet Charlotte de Witte, South Korean multi-instrumentalist Peggy Gou and the beautifully unique Motor City Drum Ensemble among some of the acts who absolutely won the crowd over in previous editions of Glitch. And that’s without mentioning the mythical Ben Klock himself.

Hyped acts like Bicep, Helena Hauff, DVS1, Polar Inertia and Octo Octa will also be performing on the night as part of what Glitch Festival is confidently calling its biggest line-up to date.

Beyond the big international names, Glitch Festival will also be featuring some of the biggest local names, from ethereal house producer Jupiter Jax to mysterious industrial techno heavyweight Llimbs, who will be putting up a definitely unforgettable live performance.

While the venue for this year’s edition will yet again be the sprawling of Gianpula fields (and multiple stages, from rooftop pool parties to secret, ancient vaults), Glitch 2019 will also be extending its influence over the iconic festival venue.

This year’s edition of Glitch sees the festival taking over six different venues

The fortress theme is still very much alive and kicking, not just in the festival’s behemoth main stage. But along from the now-iconic Fortress Stage, Glitch will also be taking over multiple areas around Gianpula, from the poolside rooftop club to the secret underground caves that last year saw a blistering set by mysterious 90s Detroit duo Dopplereffekt.

The huge festival will be returning to the island for three days this Santa Marija

The main event at Gianpula will be happening on the 14th and 15th of August. But the party won’t stop on the 16th, with a boat-party planned for a sun-soaked finale.

The lineup for the boat party (oh yes, that’s an actual separate thing altogether!) will be revealed later on.

Early-bird tickets are out now, but they’re expected to sell out very quickly.
