Singers, songwriters, producers and aspiring musicians, listen up…

One of Malta’s most sought after music companies and studios WickedandLoud has just opened a brand new, state-of-the-art studio in the heart of London!

The studio, which was once the breeding ground for Berwick Street Studios, has a rich history of recording international stars including David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Bjork and The Sex Pistols.

Now, it’s home to one of Malta’s most sought after music companies.

In an attempt to onboard more international artists and producers to their roster, WickedandLoud set up base in Soho London, in the heart of the UK’s music scene…

… and we’re sure that the talent it brings will attract a lot of attention in the UK.

“Our goal is to distribute high-quality music and make it accessible and reachable to the maximum number of audience possible,” said WickedandLoud’s Elton Zarb.

The studios are equipped with the latest state of the art technologies, including a vintage AMR mixing desk.

While the idea is to have UK and international artists onboard, WickedandLoud is also committed to having a hub where Maltese artists can work and collaborate with other artists and producers that the partners represent and manage.

“One of our in-house producers, Matteo Depares, has relocated permanently in London. Other producers and writers will be going there to do sessions with Maltese and non-Maltese clients in the future, which will help with their artistic side, and bring new influences and inspirations to the Maltese music scene.”

“Apart from having the recording studio facilities, we are also using this space for private intimate sessions so that our artists can showcase their music to people in the industry,” they went on. “We have already scheduled some of our artists here to do writing sessions, production sessions and also intimate and private performances at the studio.”

However, this isn’t the first time WickedandLoud has made ties overseas, having reached an agreement with UK music publishing company Future Songs last year.

Chronologically, it made sense for WickedandLoud to take advantage of this agreement and expand its presence to the UK with the establishment of its own studio.

“This partnership flourished to a point where it was decided to take a step further and form a record label, where artists who have already been working with WickedandLoud will be joining the roster of other international artists.”

Despite ambitions to expand abroad, WickedandLoud still remain busy at home with in-house producers working hard to release material for local artists over the new months, including the official release of Gaia’s new single ‘Why Should I’, produced by Siconic and written by Kevin Paul and Gaia herself.

When JP's not too busy working on polyrhythmic beats, you'll probably find him out and about walking his dog.
