Finally: After A Three Year Hiatus, This Amazing Maltese Band Is Back At It
Plato’s Dream Machine, one of the Maltese alternative scene’s sweethearts for the last couple of years, are finally back with their second album, ĠUF, and they’re releasing it this weekend.
Ever since the 2014 release of their debut album Għera, PDM have climbed to the top of the scene’s bands to watch, teasing things to come over the years. Earlier last month, they released their first single Paraliżi, a highly energetic number with a very apt stop-motion video.
In 2016, Plato’s Dream Machine launched an IndieGogo funding campaign which was so well-received, it catapulted the bands then-unfinished record to the studio. Now, the 11-track album ĠUF is recorded, packaged, and ready to be launched over a grand two-day event which the band have been tirelessly prepping for over the last couple of weeks.
PDM recently also released a second single, Fidi, which is the album opener and has been a crowd favourite whenever they’ve played it live.
ĠUF‘s launch concert is happening this weekend over two days at the Valletta Campus Theatre (formerly known as the MITP Theatre). Tickets for Saturday are completely sold out, but a handful for Sunday night are still up for sale here.
