From Old School Legends To The New Kid In Town, Maltese Musicians Welcome August With Some Killer New Tracks

Less than one week into August and there’s already been a crazy number of new tracks released by Maltese artists.

From some of the biggest names on the island to the new kids on the block, musicians in Malta keep on churning out music faster than a speeding bullet…and we are trying our very best to keep up!

1. Beangrowers: Dystopia

We’ve covered this already but there’s no harm in doing it again- because it’s that damn good.

Maltese indie rock legends Beangrowers have dropped a new melancholic single called Dystopia along with a music video featuring vintage footage of buildings being destroyed, in reverse.

The trio have also hinted that a new album is on the way, but haven’t given us a release date yet.

2. Kurt Calleja: Sweet Chili

If you’re wondering why Kurt Calleja hasn’t released any new music recently it’s probably because he’s decided to switch careers to a grocery clerk.

All that time working the veggie isles has resulted in this new ‘hot’ summer banger released last week.

3. Beesqueeze: Lost At Sea

Malta’s dynamic duo are back with their synth-pop/rock track ‘Lost At Sea’ featuring a very random music video that has nothing to do with the title of the song but somehow works with the overall trance vibe it gives off.

4. Arqadius: Pembroke

Arquadius’ latest track reveals a side of Pembroke we haven’t seen before.

The seven-minute techno piece features original drone footage of Pembroke, including some of its most iconic graffiti pieces. The combination of both sound and video creates a sensory experience that stimulates your senses and can leave you in an eternal trance forever…

5. Daniel Sant: WYTCHES

This is a song I chuck on the radio when I’m about to take off on a long drive by myself to nowhere.

A perfectly relaxed, mellow and in-your-thoughts tune to glide you through the weekend and jam along to – with only mother nature to keep you company.

6. JC.B: Peanuts (EP)

The new kid on the block JC.B has released his first EP featuring four fire lofi hip hop tunes and spitting bars like he’s Kendrick Lamar.

Oh, and look out for our full-length review coming this week…

7. Grazielle: All About That Bass

One of Malta’s biggest bloggers has released a jazzed-up version of Meghan Trainor’s hit song ‘All About That Bass’ in an effort to empower women and promote positive vibes.

She also decided to film a music video for it because… uh… why not?

BONUS: Kevin Paul’s Teaser Trailer

Your bonus this week is an exhilarating and ambiguous teaser trailer by Kevin Paul for what appears to be his new track (or album) ‘IDWK’.
