Fusion Festival: Valletta To Come Alive For Malta’s First-Ever Busking Project
The Fusion Festival will be hitting the streets of Valletta for two special nights, both packed with local and international talent, on 30th November and 1st December.
Besides celebrating collaboration and exchange between Maltese and international talent, Fusion will also be providing a platform for local rising musicians to perform alongside acclaimed global artists.
“As the name suggests, the Fusion Festival will showcase a fusion of the arts, with a key focus on blending local and international talent. One of our main goals is to provide a platform where foreign artists can perform alongside our local talent, fostering collaboration and mutual growth,” stated Pamela Kerr, representing BLS Entertainment.
This is the island’s first busking project, and will open with free street performances across the capital, bringing music, dance and art to life, from 10 AM to 3 PM.
The aim is to hone in to the same cultural tradition celebrated in cities such as London, New York and Paris.

“Events like the Fusion Festival align perfectly with our vision for Valletta. We want our capital to be alive with creativity, much like other cities that have embraced busking festivals. Valletta, with its historic architecture and unique charm, provides the ideal setting for such vibrant performances,” stated Jason Micallef, Chairperson of the Valletta Cultural Agency.
Highlights of the festival include A Night with the Stars, a special concert featuring Maltese mezzosoprano Marvic Monreal and internationally renowned soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen, taking place on 1st December at 6:30 PM. Willis-Sørensen, celebrated for her powerful voice and spellbinding presence at iconic venues like the Metropolitan Opera and Royal Opera House, brings an extraordinary level of artistry to this event, making it one of the festival’s must-see experiences.
Another awaited concert is that of Red Electric & Friends, one featuring Malta’s very own Red Electric, supporting local artists and Liverpool’s indie-pop sensation Clean Cut Kid, and will be taking place at Teatro Salesiani, Sliema.
