Malta’s party scene is pretty stacked with male DJs in every genre. We thought it was time to shine a light on some of the women taking the scene by storm.
It is 2019 after all, and it doesn’t have to cost you a night out in Paceville to hear some of them spinning, either…
1. Tiffany Pisani
She’s fresh into her second season at Gianpula’s Marrakech and a recurrent DJ at Malta’s hottest queer night of inclusion, Lollipop.
2. Miss Roberta
A favourite in the underground and staple for any great night out at Playground, Miss Roberta also features prominently with DJ Ruby at his exclusive private events.
3. Alessia DeMartino
Serving up some summer bounces to soundtrack your spritz, Alessia has DJed at the likes of Café del Mar and Dragonara Club Lounge.
4. Nicole Parnis
You’ll find Nicole spinning actual vinyls in some of Malta’s swankiest bars and beach hangouts, she’s a queen of disco and touts karaoke as “the only way to have fun without removing your clothes.”
One of Malta’s Top 25 Movers and Shakers, Shanjo has been riling up the crowds for a very long time and we hope she continues forever.
6. Mia Wave
A regular at almost any lido on the island and fan-favourite of Café del Mar’s Red Sunset Party, Mia Wave hails from Spain but chose Malta to be her party scene, and we are not complaining.
Beyond being a DJ, Yews is also a producer, sound artist, sound designer and co-founder of the Malta Sound Women Network. Yas!
Not just your ordinary DJ, Sunta is also one badass woman. Resident A Little Crush DJ for Surfside in Sliema, she can rock a crowd and a harness #SheNasty
