He’s back!

Two years after his last Eurovision attempt, Maltese singer Aidan has officially announced his return to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026, saying he’s “more prepared, more certain, and more determined” than ever before.

In a heartfelt post shared on social media, Aidan said he has spent the past two years completely immersed in music; writing, rewriting and recording over 45 new song demos, chasing melodies late at night and rediscovering himself as an artist.

“For the past two years, I’ve lived and breathed music in a way I never have before. Every lyric, every chord has been part of a bigger journey — one I wasn’t quite ready to share until now,” Aidan posted.

Reflecting on his connection with fans, Aidan said performing live and hearing audiences sing his lyrics back to him made him realise that his music had grown beyond himself.

“My music is no longer just mine. It belongs to all of us. Again and again, you’ve asked me to take that energy, that voice, and carry it onto a bigger stage,” he continued.

And now, he’s doing just that. Aidan confirmed that he will submit his song for Malta Eurovision 2026, marking his official comeback to the contest after a two-year break.

“This time, I feel more prepared than I have ever been. More certain in who I am as an artist. More confident in the story I want to tell. And more determined than ever to stand on that stage — not just for myself, but for every single person who has believed in me.”

The singer also hinted that his upcoming entry will be deeply personal, built on passion and resilience, two traits he says define Malta’s Eurovision journey.

“Malta’s Eurovision story has always been built on passion and resilience. Maybe this is the moment we dare to achieve a great result again. The time to chase Malta’s dream, together.”

“Thank you for your love. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for pushing me to believe even harder in myself. Jien hawn għadni nistenna — waiting for this moment. Let’s go all the way,” he ended with.

Aidan last competed in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
