IN PHOTOS: Bad Weather Couldn’t Stop A Host Of Maltese Stars From Taking Valletta By Storm For ALS Last Night
As the clouds darkened and the temperature dropped around Malta yesterday, people took to social media to see if a last-minute cancellation had been announced for the highly-anticipated concert of the evening in Valletta.
But it would take much more than a bit of rain for Versatile and Co. to cancel any event… let alone their biggest event of the year.
In true rock n’roll fashion, the brass band showed up, guns-blazing, and put on a performance for the ages…
… to a crowd of over 4000 music lovin people.
Versatile & Friends For ALS was a major success. With a lineup featuring some of Malta’s best musicians and entertainers, and a crowd ready to party, last night’s show looked amazing.
But let’s not forget the main reason for the event, which was to raise money to build a newer and bigger Dar Bjorn.
Throughout the evening, a total of €52,350 was donated in order to begin work on this new project come October 1st.
Many came prepared with umbrellas in anticipation for the bad weather…
Versatile brought a few friends with them to perform for the evening, including Kevin Paul, Michela Pace, Ira Losco and Owen Leuellen…
The rain was no match for the show’s pyrotechnics…
Pjazza San Ġorġ was packed! Can you spot yourself in the crowd?
Last night’s concert was a massive success and it wouldn’t have been possible without the continued efforts of Versatile Brass and ALS Malta, who collectively spearhead the development of a new Dar Bjorn.
Although the night might be over, the journey for a new Dar Bjorn has just begun.
