In Photos: Last Weekend’s Rock The South Festival In Malta Was Incredible
The sixth edition of the Rock The South music festival took the Maltese music scene by storm last weekend, with three days of awesome acts rocking the two stages and large outdoor tent.
While our ears are still ringing, here some highlights from a couple of days which many of us will surely not forget any time soon.
1. Each and every musician rocked up with all the energy in the world
With over 40 DJs, artists and bands, the festival was one long weekend of raw energy, and everyone brought their A game.
2. And the crowd definitely did not disappoint
As with previous editions, hundreds of people flocked to Zion to not only show their support to their artist-friends, but to dance the three nights away with whoever took the stage.
3. The mornings were spent rocking on the festival venue’s roof
As part of Balcony TV‘s latest foray into Malta, RTS hosted the international online viral music show on the actual roof of Zion during the day, where dozens of acts played stripped down versions of their most famous tunes with the best possible view.
4. The coolest band merch in Malta was up for sale
There was something for everyone to remember the weekend by at the merchandise stalls. From band t-shirts, to stickers, to festival merch, the only hard part was deciding what not to get.
There were even custom-made Ziggi rolling papers up for sale!
5. And the Silent Disco was as surreally awesome as ever
It must’ve been a pretty weird experience for anyone who found themselves in Rock The South’s quiet tent without a pair of headphones. As soon as they put the headphones on, though, the whole world could’ve just switched off for all they cared.
The usual humming something escalated into an embarrassing (and slightly out of tune) chanting, as everyone forgot for a second that there were people all around.
