Malta’s Most Famous Rock Festival Is Back With A Bang

Maltese alternative festival Rock the South has just announced the lineup for its sixth edition, and it looks like it’s going to be one for the books.

The lineup is an eclectic mix of local heavyweights, interesting upcoming bands, and international artists that are sure to bring the crowds back to Marsascala’s Zion.

One of the biggest highlights of the festival is definitely Sdang!, an Italian duo who impressed everyone last year on a sold out night of pure energy. This time, they’ll be bringing with them Colin Edwin along wit them, who is the bassist of the internationally acclaimed band Porcupine Tree.

Also on the bill is Lois, a Spanish musician who has been featured on magazines like NME and The Line Of Best Fit as “the next artist who is going to cross borders from the excellent DIY scene of Madrid.”

The lineup boasts over 25 local bands from the scene, from big names like YEWS and The Ranch to exciting new names on the block, like Eyes to Argus.

Rock the South will also feature the unique Silent Disco, a large tent where people can go in and party along with music that is sent to wireless headphones. This year, the Silent Disco will be powered by Lovin Malta, and we’re giving one lucky person the opportunity to DJ on Saturday night.

If last year was anything to go by, 2017’s edition of the festival is shaping up to be one unforgettable weekend.

Rock the South 2017 is going down on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd April, and early bird tickets are available right now. For more information as the day gets closer, stay tuned to the festival’s official website or the Facebook event.
