Maltese Band Kodin Hill & The Pressed Pills To Share Stage With Punk Icons

Four months. Sold-out shows. And now, a major international festival.
Local band Kodin Hill & The Pressed Pills have just been announced as one of the opening acts for Bayfest Summer, and they’re making history as the only Maltese band selected from over 20 auditioning acts across Italy.
Set to hit the stage on 9th August, the homegrown group will be playing alongside punk legends like Refused and Turbonegro, marking a huge milestone for the band, who only formed earlier this year.
“We all felt really happy and satisfied that the work we’ve been putting in is paying off,” frontman Kodin told Lovin Malta.

Formed after months of jamming at open mics and getting up to general shenanigans, the band quickly found its groove, and fans. In just a few weeks, they’ve played sold-out gigs and landed slots at big local festivals like Lithium Live.
As for the Bayfest audition, the band recorded two original tracks and shot a live video at Studio X, against the odds.
“It’s wild to think Sean (our drummer) and I (bassist) were there last year just vibing to the bands and screaming for Alkaline Trio,” the bassist wrote on Facebook.
“On the walk there we were even getting stopped by people mistaking us for artists performing…
They’ll be correct this time round.”
With roots in the Maltese scene and their eyes now on much bigger stages, it’s clear that Kodin Hill & The Pressed Pills are just getting started.
