The B E W Y L D Festival is back with a bang, for its third edition of this quirky and subcultural festival that’s not to be missed.

With the festival having kicked off last night on the eve of the public holiday, it’s going on until tonight, bringing you some Independence Day action.

“Rather than bringing in big name acts, I’m trying to curate a lineup made up of emerging artists. B E W Y L D is a grassroots, DIY, quirky, subcultural mini-festival that is showcasing music in a more organic way in an intimate setting to connect both the artists and the audience more,” organiser Shawn James told Lovin Malta.

“No big stages, fancy lights here, just pure W Y L D fun!”

“I’m trying to go back to the essential and pure element of what music gives to us. Over the years this has been lost especially with corporate sponsors.”

“With B E W Y L D I’m trying to get back to the true connection that is made between artists and audience no separation of gods and mortals. We’re all humans of the earth and music is that connection between us all!”

Showcasing a completely new lineup made up of musicians, artists, and dancers, B E W Y L D shall be featuring the likes of NTS Radio Resident – Cherrie Flava, as well as Canadian-born LA artist, model and designer – Bunny Holiday.

Vogue dancer and artist – Skavr will be making an appearance, as well as Ambient Musician, Ghost, along with the likes of DJ Couples – Spilt Jamz and Immersjoni.

The line-up continues with female ethereal electronic musician Child, singer and songwriter David Schembri along with producers Mallaso and Sensi Kid.

Tonight’s leg kicks off at 5pm, and is planned to go on until 11pm. Tickets can be purchased from the tropical cultural community centre of Klabb Ħawaj found along Triq in-Naxxar, in San Ġwann.

B E W Y L D is sponsored by Tuff Cider.
