Ela Mangion, a 12 year-old singer and pianist, has been selected to fly the flag for Malta at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Ela won the Maltese national final last night with her song ‘Marchin On’, an upbeat song, written by Emil Calleja Bayliss and composed by Cyprian Cassar, about the importance of standing strong and fighting through whatever problems life throws at you.

She will take to the stage in Minsk on 25th November and will be hoping to emulate the recent Junior Eurovision successes of Gaia Cauchi and Destiny Chukunyere. The Junior Eurovision served as an ideal launching pad for the musical careers of both those two young singers, with Destiny making it to the semi-final of last year’s Britain’s Got Talent and Gaia set to take on this year’s X Factor UK.

Despite her young age, Ela is certainly no stranger to the world of singing competitions, having won last year’s Euro Pop Contest in Berlin and having finished second in the 2016 edition of ‘New Wave Junior’ in Russia.

What do you make of Ela’s song?
