We are one week away from the Lovin Music Awards and to be honest, we’re already thinking about a couple of nominations for next year after these awesome releases by Maltese musicians this week.

Check out these top-notch tracks released by some talented local musicians and add them to your Spotify playlist. You may even get a glimpse of some of them at the LMAs next week; either performing or in the crowd!

1. Where It’s ATT – Through My Eyes

Where It’s ATT are back with a brand new pop-infused house track that is both true to the duo’s signature house sound but fresh enough to keep them on an upward trajectory.

Through My Eyes follows from the group’s latest Ep ‘Ma Lane’ which has recently surpassed over 1 millions streams online.

The song definitely verges on the edge of mainstream house music but Where It’s ATT have made a point about not compromising on their deep basslines resulting in this creative and fresh mix that is bound to get some airplay both locally and abroad.

“It’s great to see a growing acceptance of G-House throughout the mainstream pop culture,” Where It’s ATT.

2. X-Vandals – The Other Side Of The Sun

Local Thrash Metal legends X-Vandals are back with a new single and new line up ahead of their upcoming album release.

The Other Side Of The Sun is the latest release from the now 5-piece metal band (with Albert Bell joining them on guitar), which will feature on their upcoming fifth album – details of which are yet to be released.

The music video was taken from their live show at Farsons Beer Fest. The song itself is a tribute to old school 80s Thrash Metal and is a promising glimpse into the heaviness X-Vandals will be bringing with them on their latest album.

3. Gaia Cauchi – Why Should I?

Gaia is back with her latest pop single Why Should I  accompanied by one rave of a video, featuring her suspended in mid-air as she questions why she ought to care about an ex-lover who’s clearly moved on, but still lingers in the background.

Why Should I, a dance-inspired pop tune, pumping with club-leaning energy. This is only the beginning of a new chapter in Gaia’s already very rich story.

4. Berne – Oceans

Maltese duo Berne have released their first single ever Oceans after the pair of musicians (Deborah Borg Brincat and Gianluca Pulvirenti) reconnected in London to form their latest alt-pop project.

The track is a hard-hitting emotional melody that encapsulates the somewhat somber tone behind message and lyrics. Here’s what the duo had to say about it:

‘Oceans’ expresses the struggle to understand why people are threatened by diversity and criticizes societies for only protecting and providing for their own. It is a response to the diplomatic stand-off amongst European leaders over the fate of 32 migrants who were left aboard The Sea Watch 3 for eighteen days in December 2018 – January 2019 in Mediterranean waters.
