The legendary Bob Marley’s old band, The Wailers, are returning to Malta’s shores to perform in The Għaxaq Music Festival, set to revisit popular hits such as Buffalo Soldier, Three Little Birds, and No Woman No Cry.

And that’s not all – popular Italian singer-songwriter Marco Masini will be crooning his ballads to the audience who will lap up such tunes as T’Innamorerai, Bella Stronza, and Vaffanculo.

The Ħal Għaxaq community is punching above its weight when it comes to attracting great acts to their festivities.

Names such as UB40, Smokie, Boney M, and Johnny Logan have graced this lovely village in the past. The Wailers form part of the historical music canon and have helped to no small extent shape the sound and popularity of reggae music in the 70s.

Maltese talent will support The Wailers in the form of the ultra-cool band Sterjotipi with their fresh and contemporary music in the Maltese language that is appealing to the general audience with songs such as Int u Jien, Urini, and Belti.

Meanwhile, popular Maltese singer Kurt Calleja will be opening the evening with his band.

All donations from this festival will be in aid of Embrace Diversity Organization.

VIP tickets for The Wailers can be purchased from here while tickets for Marco Masini can be obtained from here, from next Monday 15th May.

The Għaxaq Music Festival enjoys the patronage of the Arts Council Malta, Festivals Malta, and the Malta Tourism Authority.
