If you’re smart you probably took today off so you can enjoy that extra-long Santa Marija weekend. If that’s the case, then you have no excuse not to go to one of these summer events.
This weekend once again features some major international acts, a couple of throwback parties and some acoustic gigs to top it off. Make sure to check them over before the summer season is over (and it’s sooner than you think).
Friday 16th August
1. Cool bands on a hot summers day
Fuzzhoneys, Beequeeze and Five Years From Now have joined together for a night of groovy, funky and punky music at Margo’s in Mistra Bay.

District keeps on truckin and shows no sign of slowing down.
This week’s edition features Brame & Hamo – a couple of Irish lads renowned for their eclectic productions to harder-edged techno.
3. Summer’s hottest DJs at G7/Sound Salon Fridays
DJ Meduza will be making their debut in Malta this weekend at G7/Sound Salon Fridays, Gianpula. If you don’t know them by name then you’ll definitely know them by this killer track…
4. Hypnotic sounds of the underground
Fresh rhythm and sound at Cafe Society courtesy of Dean Wengrow. Expect everything from lost synth classics to art rock edits, fused with current underground club stylings from London, Berlin, Tel-Aviv and beyond.
Saturday 17th August
5. The best of the decades
From Grease to Black Eyed Peas Summer Party is back on Saturday 17th August at Gianpula Main Room. Expect the Best Party Atmosphere with the great sounds from the 70’s until today.
6. Summer Daze comes to an end *cry*
Summer Daze will be closing its seven-day festival this Saturday with local legend Ziggy supported by Kristen Knight.
Sunday 18th August
7. Folk beat at Offbeat
Sam Christie and Chris Vella team up for a one-off night of music at Valletta’s cozy Offbeat jazz bar.
8. Saturday night fever
Night fever, night feveerr. The Guest List is taking us back to to a time when bell-bottoms were cool (and to be honest they still are) with their Disco themed event this Saturday.
9. Tropical house to close your weekend
La Belle Musique returns to Malta and is bring a load of international artists. This weeks’ edition features French DJ Tez Cadey supported by JJOY, Supre and Daniel Veloso – all happening at 1926 on a blissful Sunday evening.
