Lovers of dance music and hopefuls in the industry rejoice; the International Music Summit College Conference is coming back to Malta in 2017.

Whether you’re a student or an emerging industry professional, opportunities like this to gain insights into the scene are very rare to come by. And this year is bringing some industry heavyweights to the tiny island, with Sven Vath, Agoria, Todd Terry and Richy Ahmed.

Founded 10 years ago by legendary BBC radio presenter and DJ Pete Tong, the IMS aims to inspire debate, discussion and to help implement progressive change in electronic music. Back in 2007, electronic music was facing a bit of a slump and was in a desperate need of a productive community setting for its leaders.

Kicking off in Ibiza (one of the original hubs of electronic music), the IMS has over the years spread across countries and continents, from Los Angeles to Shanghai, also making its way to our shores in 2016 in the form of its College Conference.

With last year’s successful edition roping in big names and a massive party, 2017 has a lot to live up to if it wants to be even bigger and better. And that’s exactly what the organizers plan on doing.

The IMS College Conference 2017 will be a two day conference hosted by 356 Entertainment Group, organisers and pioneers in the Maltese dance music scene.

The conference will surely help to continue raising awareness about our country, and after the success of festivals like Lost & Found, this is the perfect opportunity to fill up our calendar with international brands. Over the last couple of years, a lot of people and festival organisers have come out to call Malta the next Ibiza, and with the amazingly lucrative industry that’s been gradually building, the sky is definitely the limit for dance music on our tiny island.
