Watch: Busking For Charity Event To Make A Comeback This Christmas Eve
A heartwarming tradition is set to continue today in Valletta for the sixth consecutive year as The Busker and their musician friends spread the holiday cheer! This will be done to raise money for Marchese di Villabianca: Centre for Music and the Arts for Children and Young People with Disabilities.
This is no ordinary musical event, it is a charity busking initiative that will fill the capital’s streets with music on Christmas Eve.
Over the past five years, the musicians have displayed a deep commitment in giving back to the community. From supporting Dar Hosea in 2018 to contributing just under €1,000 for Dar Merħba Bik in 2019, their dedication was unwavering.
In 2020, they organised a two-hour Facebook stream alongside local vocalists, raising funds for Hospice Malta and raised a total of €1,200 for Dar Tgħanniqa t’Omm and Oasi Foundation.
Expressing gratitude for the growing enthusiasm surrounding the initiative, Dav.Jr shared, “It has been heartwarming to see how the enthusiasm for this initiative continues to grow each year, and in turn increases our enthusiasm to use the gift of music to bring joy and support charities and organisations who are doing great work all year round.”

Commenting on the initiative, President Emeritus Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Founder & Chair of The Malta Trust Foundation, expressed her admiration: “What a beautiful way of celebrating Christmas! The contribution of these Musicians is truly commendable. What an amazing way of giving by using one’s talents and precious time, to those of us who need our support in our society.”
On Sunday, 24th December, starting from 10:00 onwards, The Busker, Matthew Pellicano on keys, Gabriel Agius Pascalidis on saxophone, and other local music scene stars will set up in front of the Law Courts in Valletta.
