Maltese record producer and sound engineer Dr. Rene Mamo has released a song called “Fil-Ħoss tar-Riħ”, dedicated to his late father, Salvino. The song explores the themes of love, loss, and remembrance.

Released six months after Salvino’s passing, the song features vocals of Mark Tonna.

The title “Fil-Ħoss tar-Riħ”, which translates to “In the Sound of the Wind”, Mamo urges the listeners to follow the author’s experience of mourning a dear person, his father.

The song’s chorus is particularly touching, combining despair with hope. The words, “Now you are resting, but you, dear, keep on living in the sound of the wind,” can be attributed to a simple philosophy that loved ones are always around despite their absence.

With a career spanning nearly 30 years, Mamo is no stranger to creating music. From his early work composing for Maltese song contests to producing classical pieces.

This song stands out from the rest as it shows a glimpse into his personal life. It touches on a universal truth: most people have experienced the loss of someone dear, whether a family member or loved one, taken too soon, and have faced the difficult journey of coping with their grief.
