WATCH: From Game Of Thrones To The Maltese National Anthem, The BBC Orchestra Did Not Disappoint Last Night
The BBC Concert Orchestra stunned Floriana last night with a magical performance featuring some of the world’s most brilliant actors and musicians.
‘Friday Night Is Music Night’ is the world’s longest-running orchestral live music show, celebrating music from all genres and schools. For its Malta debut, the BBC Orchestra tailored the setlist to feature music from films filmed in Malta, but also including some other classic film scores too.
Game of Thrones was perhaps the biggest highlight, not only for the music, but also because the event was hosted by GoT favourite actor Charles Dance.
Being in Malta, the orchestra had to play Gladiator too.
And of course, the performance also featured our all-time favourite anthems from Queen, Mary Poppins, The Greatest Showman and Lion King (just in time for its premiere this weekend!)
Another major highlight of the evening were the performances put on by guest vocalists Louise Dearman, Hannah Waddingham and Bradley Jaden.
The BBC Orchestra also knew how to pull at our heartstrings, giving a beautiful rendition of the Maltese national anthem.
The evening ended on a spectacular note with a performance of the Main Title from Star Wars, accompanied by an explosive fireworks show.

Attendees were thrilled by the experience and atmosphere of the evening, with many taking to social media to express their gratitude and congratulations to the orchestra and event’s organisers.
