Watch: ‘Less Wars, More Love’ – Matthew James Borg And The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra Unveil Powerful Song All About Hope
It might be hard to imagine a world without conflict right now, but one Maltese singer has teamed up with an orchestra to remind us how we could just about achieve that.
Known to be both the writer and the voice behind local anthems such as Paul, Young Again and Tbissem, Matthew James Borg is back just in time for the Christmas holidays, and this time, it’s a track all about hope.
For his new song People, Borg teamed up with none other than the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for a powerful ballad.
“A few years ago, I found myself fearing people—focusing only on their flaws after going through a rough time,” the singer-songwriter told his followers earlier this week ahead of the song’s release. “But I had a moment of clarity that reminded me we all face struggles, no matter who we are.”

“People is about hope,” Borg continued. “It’s about looking beyond our differences and seeing beyond what divides us, finding common ground. I think if everyone approaches life in this way, we would have less wars and more love in our world.”
Written and orchestrated by Matt himself, the song was produced by none other than Howard Keith Debono at his Jagged House Studios.
The third single from his upcoming album Ashes to Ashes (out this January), People got a cinematic music video filmed at Teatru Salesjan and directed by Steve Levi Vella, which was released just yesterday.
