Young Maltese dancer Michaela DeBono appeared at the 2019 MTV European Music Awards in Seville this weekend where she shared the stage with two of America’s biggest up-and-comers…
Michaela is currently based in London, but took to stage in Seville last night as a backup dancer for latin star Becky G and American R’n’B pop singer Mabel.
Mabel’s performance of the night was one of her best charting tracks to date, Don’t Call Me Up. See if you can spot Michaela in the background popping and locking and jamming and breaking (also if you don’t get this reference then we can’t be friends).
Becky G, while hosting the entire event, took to stage initially with Akon for their feature track Cómo No but the latinx then appeared again to run through a triple-whammy of her repertoire with 24/7, Sin Pijama and Mayores.
Michaela was shared the stage with a number of other talented European dancers but was the only Maltese amongst the troupe.
But it wasn’t just Michaela representing Malta at the 2019 EMAs, either…
Before Michaela had taken to stage with the second live act for the main event, the stars get to let loose at the pre-show party which say Sofia Reyes and Jhay Cortez get the good vibes going and Sofia stepped out wearing a pair of Charles & Ron’s runway boots. Slay it C&R!
