In a world where music is often about grand stages and massive productions, Offbeat Music Bar has introduced a refreshing, intimate series that strips performances down to their raw essence.

Welcome to Offbeat Sessions, a unique platform that showcases Maltese artists in a setting that highlights their talents and songwriting.

Filmed within the intimate atmosphere and impeccable acoustics of Valletta’s Offbeat Music Bar, these sessions allow for a close-up encounter with some of Malta’s most expressive artists.

The inaugural series of Offbeat Sessions features five exceptional Maltese acts, each bringing their unique sound and energy to the stage: Djun, Karmaġenn, Sean, Ella Puci, and Mariele.

Last week saw a powerful and raw performance by Djun. Next up is Karmaġenn.

The collaborative project dreamt up by local artist Noah Fabri Karmaġenn began with a self-titled album released in 2019, telling the story of five JC students during the Christmas season. The second album, Urbanali, was released in 2023.

In this session, Noah, presents Serjeta Biss, a piece offering a perspective on queer lives that fall outside of normativity. Karmaġenn’s work continues to push boundaries and provide a voice for underrepresented stories in the Maltese music landscape.
