A young Maltese songwriter appears to be well on his way to the top of the industry after co-writing a song for The Script, the famous band behind massive tracks like ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ and ‘For the First Time’.

Shaun Farrugia announced the news earlier today on social media. The song called ‘Hot Summer Nights’ is available on all streaming platforms and YouTube and forms part of The Script’s latest album Sunsets & Full Moons.

“Today’s a special day for me, I’ve been dreaming of today for so many years and for it to be finally here is an unreal!!!” Shaun wrote on Facebook. ”

My first ever song I co-wrote for The Script is out and it’s called ‘Hot Summer Nights’ ????. I’d like to thank [The Script members] Danny Mark, Glenn and [producer] Jimbo Barry for believing in this song and giving me the opportunity to be part of such an incredible Album. I’d also love to thank the amazing team at Tile Yard Music and Lighthouse And Sigala for believing in me in the first place and supporting me day in day out.”

“One less thing to tick off the Bucket List.”
