The boys have done it again! Red Electrick held its third annual concert last Saturday and it was bigger than ever, with the popular Maltese band launching its first album featuring Joe Roscoe as its frontman.

The album, Tragic Optimistic, features some well-loved bangers such as G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S and Dive In, simply sublime. It is named after the concept that the resident geek and keyboard player of the band, Aleandro Spiteri Monsigneur, was reading about – Tragic Optimism, when one stays optimistic in the face of negativity.

But apart from the new music, this concert included an innovative experience – the first revolving stage in Malta.

With this new feature, the band and the audience alike experienced a totally unique way of attending a concert. Joe Roscoe commented about this during the concert, stating that now people can see the face he makes at the drummer, Robert Spiteri, when he is “dropping a phat beat.”

At the end of the concert, they also announced the new addition to the REK family – little Charlotte, Ivan Borg’s baby daughter. Congratulations!
