Local favourite, The Travellers, have just dropped their second release of 2025, “Ġmiel.”

Ġmiel is that moment when someone walks into a room and changes the energy completely. We wanted to capture the spark you feel before you’ve even said a word,” said Chris Gatt, lead singer.

The local band have been teasing their 10-year anniversary milestone and fans are thinking this latest drop is a hint of what’s to come for their celebration.

Ġmiel is the band’s second release of the year, following “Dawn il-Widien” which was released in April.

The Travellers are well-known for using the Maltese language in their lyrics and for creating lively, island-inspired music that is both relatable and suitable for the radio.

Since the band has been teasing Ġmiel live to thunderous applause, fans who saw them at Beerfest and other summer performances may already be familiar with the hook.

The music video was directed by Gary Bugeja and filmed by Victor Abela, the video strikes a warm, feel-good tone, like someone’s favourite summer memory, slightly faded around the edges but vivid at the core.
