There’s a whole bunch of talent in Malta creating insane material, and stories like this are the reason why we’re hosting a Music Awards.

Young Maltese DJ Edd reached new heights after his original track was performed in front of thousands earlier this week by one of the world’s biggest DJs – Jamie Jones.

What’s even better is the moment came as a complete surprise to the Maltese artist

“About a month ago I received a notification that James Jones bought my track, but after never receiving any news regarding whether it was played, I completely forgot about it,” Edd said when speaking to Lovin Malta.

Fast forward a month later, and an unexpected Edd is receiving videos of DJ/Producer Jamie Jones spinning his original track I Got ‘Em during his live performance at an UNTOLD Galaxy in Romania… and it looked epic.

Jamie and co. can be seen grooving to the beat of Edd’s track with the audience going wild in the background as the beat drops.

It seems like everyone was getting down with the beats of the young Maltese DJ, and after listening to the track a couple of times, we did too.

Thanks to the power of social media, the clip was posted on Jamie’s story which was later transferred into a screen recording and published on a Track ID group on Facebook.

Through sheer coincidence, it ended up in Edd’s hands, who up until then had no idea what was going on.

“Last night, a friend of mine coincidentally came across a screen-recording of the video on a Track ID group on Facebook and sent it over to me asking if it was my track. To cut a long story short, the video was still on his story, and it was my track.”

This kind of exposure goes along way for local artists and we’re thrilled that their talent is getting recognised abroad!
