They are the two biggest names in Maltese music, but Ira Losco and Joseph Calleja have never actually performed together on stage.
Until last night, that was.
Renowned tenor Calleja invited Malta’s favourite pop star to perform with him at his annual concert at the Fosos and, although their traditional music styles are miles apart from each other, their voices blended delightfully on the night.
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli also made an appearance, singing ‘Vivo Por Lei’ alongside Losco and ‘Con Te Partiro’, also known as ‘Time To Say Goodbye’ alongside Calleja.
Newer Maltese talent wasn’t ignored either. Eurovision contestant Michela Pace got to repeat her X Factor Malta duet with Calleja, this time singing the ode to Gozo ‘Inti Djamant’.

Yesterday was amazing! It was an honor to sing along side @maltesetenor @ the Joseph Calleja and Andrea Bocelli concert! Still feels like a dream✨ A big thank you goes to @lukeazzopartyallthetime for making me feel like a princess in this dress ?, @privehairmalta for the beautiful hair, @nikolicdiane the amazing makeup and obviously to everyone who was involved in making such a huge concert possible ?
And Nicole Frendo, who finished third in X Factor, even got to sing ‘If Only’ alongside Bocelli himself, an absolute dream come true for the 17-year-old.
Duet Nicole Frendo & Andrea Bocelli 'If Only' WOW ?
