What’s More Beautiful Than Tradition? A Tradition That Includes Everyone.

Għaqda Mużikali Immakulata Kunċizzjoni in Ħamrun is proving that feasts can be more than fireworks and confetti, they can also be a celebration of community, diversity, and accessibility.
During their recent vocal and instrumental concert for the feast, the band was joined by Quiven and Alfred, two visually impaired musicians whose talents captivated the audience.
The concert also included a heartfelt moment from Raisa, who shared her inspiring story despite the personal challenges she faces.
The band club ensured that the nine days of the Novena leading up to the feast are inclusive and meaningful for everyone in the community.
Special attention is given to a wide range of individuals, including the elderly, children, those grieving the loss of loved ones, newborns, married couples, people with disabilities, persons from different national backgrounds, and others going through difficult times.
In fact, the band won an accessibility award in 2024 after installing a platform lift on its bandstand, allowing musicians with mobility challenges to join their fellow band members with ease.
At the end of the concert, Quiven Vella was gifted a masterclass to help develop his musical journey, thanks to Mro. Christine Vella.
The band is also currently working to provide free music lessons to visually impaired individuals and even to people residing in correctional facilities at Kordin and Imtaħleb.
These lessons are part of a broader mission to make music education accessible to all, regardless of circumstance.
