Young Maltese Musicians Wow International Judges At Italy Music Fest Finals
We have, not one, but two up-and-coming musicians in our midst and they’re already repping Malta overseas!
15-year-old Isaac Azzopardi and 18-year-old Bettina Farrugia recently climbed the ranks and emerged as European finalists at the Tour Music Fest, a musical competition based in San Marino, Italy, held last Thursday 28th November.
Azzopardi, also known as Ace, the up-and-coming rockstar, was one of many international finalists in the Junior Musicians Category. On his trusty guitar, Isaac performed Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child” in front a panel of renowned international judges.
Isaac, alongside his brother Jake, Carlos Pulis and Nicole Magro, make up the soft electric ensemble, Freefall, through which he continues to show his talents on a national scale.
In the Musicians Category, Bettina Farrugia performed her own original composition, “Waltz of the Stars”, and serenaded the audience and judges with an extraordinarily smooth melody.
Some might remember Bettina’s exceptional talents from the 2022 Malta’s Got Talent, where she was graced with the golden buzzer for yet another original composition by the then 16-year-old.
Unfortunately, the competition was tough, with insane talent from all over the continent who ultimately bested Isaac and Bettina’s valiant efforts. However, at the end of the day the title of a finalist is still an honourable one.
Congratulations to Isaac and Bettina for making Malta proud overseas!
