Young Maltese Singers Win Big At Polish Culture Festival

Three young Maltese singers impressed at a culture festival in Poland last weekend, winning first place prizes and even going on to obtain the highest honour of the competition, the Gran Prix Prize.
Poland’s Culture Caravan Amber Stars festival by Fundacja Benefis went down last Saturday, with 240 participants taking part.
Five-year-old Jade Spiteri came first in her category, an awesome result which was also obtained by 14-year-old Ela Cachia.
17-year-old Mariah Yasmin Cutajar, on the other hand, was the overall winner of the night, winning the Gran Prix Prize out of 240 participants.

The girls’ families took to Facebook to congratulate their daughters and also thank the people who helped get them there.
Jade, Ela and Mariah are all students of La Voix School Of Performing Arts, which was founded by renowned singing coach Gillian Attard.
Overall winner Mariah definitely made her mother Odette proud, who also took the time to thank her tutor Klinsmann Coleiro and her vocal technique coach Charlene Brincat, who’s also the assistant director at La Voix. As it turns out, this was Mariah’s very first experience competing overseas; way to kick things off with a bang!
Mariah, who’s also a bassist, posted a photo with another winner of the night. “This is Vlad, the drummer of our future band,” she said, sharing a photo with a fellow contestant. “He came second with his drumming technique.”
