If you’ve ever wondered how you could tap into the ever-growing market of clubbing in Malta or have ever wanted to become a DJ, you’re in luck. Gianpula Village, one of the largest clubbing venues on the island, is launching a specialised course very aptly named The Gianpula DJ Academy.
The course will be aimed at both complete beginners and those wanting to develop their current technique, and helping everyone hone in on their skills is one of the most popular DJs on the island, Joseph Armani.
“The Gianpula DJ Academy shall be developing and inspiring the next generation of DJs on the island,” the organisers said of the course, which seems poised to be a vital starter kit for all prospective mixmasters.
The specialist course will be covering all the fundamental skills and theory required to DJ in a club, but it won’t all be just about the technique. Using the facilities of Gianpula Village’s multiple venues, the course will be making use of the clubs’ equipment and facilities, all of which are of course state of the art.
Everything from buying music and starting a collection to using turntables will be covered in the course, and the DJ Academy will also be delving into more intricate topics like how to put together a professional demo mix and how to maintain a professional personality and any sort of etiquette involved.
By the end of the DJ Academy, trainees will get the ultimate shot at experience; playing at some of the Gianpula Village venues throughout the summer. If there was ever an opportunity for a newcomer to regularly secure future gigs, this is definitely it.
Anyone who’s interested in the Gianpula DJ Academy can enrol by popping in on any of the two dates which will mark the launch and info session – 14th and 21st April, any time between 11am and 3pm. Further details including pricing and gigs will be available then. More information on these info sessions can be found on the DJ Academy’s official Facebook event page.
