‘Patriots’ President Applies To Turn Valletta Confectionery Into A Weapons Shop

A development application was sent to the Planning Authority to transform a Valletta confectionery to a “shop selling weapons”. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. The shop that’s being converted, Juve Confectionery, is run by Alex Pisani who also happens to be the former president of the notorious Għaqda Patrijotti Maltin. The PA application – which is publicly available online – also has Pisani listed as the applicant.

When iNews Malta reported the story last week, they were contacted by Alex Pisani’s son, who said the information in their article was incorrect. Apparently, Alex Pisani is only an employee at the confectionery, which is actually registered under his son, Jody. And while the family is arguing that the application is listed under Jody’s name (probably to further disassociate with the ‘Patriots’), the permit begs to differ.

Initial processing started on the 19th of July, with the target date set for 11th November 2017. The application also mentions “internal alternations to the existing property”, which we’re assuming are necessary to turn a confectionery-bar into a weapons shop. One can’t help but wonder; will the new establishment keep its Juventus loyalty?

In the meantime, here’s an unashamedly edited photo of the man who may or may not be directly involved with the running of Malta’s new weapons shop, uploaded by Alex Pisani himself. Malta, our weapons are definitely in safe hands.
