A disturbing rumour on a Gozitan butcher which has been circulating over the past couple of days has seemingly just been confirmed.

“We can verify that this is not a fictional story,” the Association for Abandoned Animals wrote this afternoon, referring to a number of local media houses’ reports that a butcher in Gozo is killing cats and dogs and preparing them into sausages for human consumption. “And people were hospitalised.”

“Unfortunately there is only complete silence from the authorities although this incident happened weeks ago,” AAA continued.
