Animal Rights Advocates Reward Locals Who Helped Catch Alleged Animal Abuser

In a gesture of gratitude, the Real Animal Rights Foundation (RAR) today presented a total of €5,000 to four individuals who played a crucial role in helping authorities identify an alleged animal abuser.
RAR President Moira Delia and Secretary Romina Frendo, together with Mix Markt Director Karina Zax and a company that chose to remain anonymous, awarded the funds to Victoria Mamo and Stefano Galdes, both Sliema residents, Isaac Caruana from Gzira, and Gabriel Micallef from Naxxar.

The four recipients contributed CCTV footage and assisted in the investigation that led to the apprehension of Okamura Satoshi. Satoshi was arrested on 1st August at 3 a.m. while reportedly carrying cat food and gloves, believed to be intended for further acts of cruelty.
The investigation relied on footage dating back to May and June 2025, which helped police build a case against Satoshi. He is now awaiting a court sentence scheduled for 15th September.
RAR hailed the recipients’ courage and commitment, noting that their actions helped prevent further harm and sent a strong message that animal abuse will not go unnoticed.
