A disturbing case from this week saw over 60 hamsters being dumped, cages and all, in Naxxar.

“Not given a chance,” The Exterminator wrote on social media moments ago. “In the midst of some nights ago, some irresponsible individual dumped over a minimum estimated number of 60 hamsters+ with their cages and accessories in the nearby field at T’Alla u Ommu main road, limits of Naxxar.”

“While a good number managed to escape, we had reports that several were killed by nearby resident feral cats and dogs whilst a small amount where predated by local fauna such as three individual cat snakes,” the post continued. “We went on site and one of our technicians saved as much as he could and collected the carcasses along the leftover accessories that was left onsite.”

“Are we ever going to learn that dumping in the wild is not the way to go?” the popular exterminator continued.

“The rubbish dumped along with the cages attracted a number of vermin that needed to be pest managed Credit goes to our technician Paul Abela and civilian Claire Portelli for doing their best to save these animals and contain the situation.”

“Over 30 hamsters are available for adoption,” the post finished. “Those kindhearted souls that provide a home for these animals get a 10% on all exterminator products.”
