A video uploaded on Reddit shows a Maltese weasel, or ballottra, having a sniff around the front yard of someone’s house… and it’s the cutest thing ever.
The camera seems to be set up strategically as if the person who put it there knew that the cute furry animal would be paying a visit sometime soon.
The ballottra is believed to be the only natural inhabitant of the island and is a rare sighting nowadays… so consider yourself very lucky if you manage to spot one!
They were also once a symbol of pride and national identity in Malta, securing their place on the old 1 cent coin.
The Maltese weasel is more suited to the countryside, so seeing it rummaging around in someone’s front yard truly is a rare sight!
