Five Maltese Companies Donate €35,000 To Refurbish MSPCA And Open New Kennels
Five of Malta’s largest companies have donated €35,000 to the Malta Society for Protection and Care of Animals (MSPCA) to renovate the premises and open new kennels.
M. Demajo Group, Virtu Ferries, Bank of Valletta, Ernst & Young, and GasanMamo Insurance all supported the MSPCA through this generous donation.
As Malta’s largest and oldest animal welfare organisation, the MSPCA has provided shelter and rehabilitation for 200 abandoned and mistreated animals annually since 2004.
However, as time passed, the NGO’s resources began to deplete, leading it to seek help from local companies.
M. Demajo Group led the way by reaching out to other local businesses including Virtu Ferries, Bank of Valletta, Ernst & Young, and GasanMamo Insurance to collect donations.
The companies even had their own volunteers show up and help the local charity organise the area and walk the dogs that are currently living at the shelter.
“Your initiative has left the shelter truly speechless. This kind of support does not come around often, and it leaves us at a loss for words. It always seems to be an impossible task. But through this support, we can finally start putting our plans into action,” the MSPCA committee said hopefully.
