Here’s What Attard’s Local Council Had To Say About Those Handmade Cat Houses That Went Viral This Week

We recently gave you the news of a Maltese woman bringing 12 new handmade cat shelters into Ta’ Qali’s cat village. The woman, Sherry Ann Demicoli, raised concerns that they’d be removed due to her not having official permission from the local council.

Now, the Attard Local Council has reacted to Sherry Ann’s gesture

”We saw the house and the Council thinks that it is a beautiful, positive idea,” representatives told Lovin Malta.

They further commented that even if there were legal complications, it would not be in their jurisdiction, but the Ta’ Qali National Park department’s.

The park department, on the other hand, assured Lovin Malta that they do not have the authority to remove the houses even if there were any legal issues… and directed us back to the the Attard Local Council.

Well, it looks like the houses should be here to stay. Hooray for cats and cat lovers alike!
