‘I’ve Become A Crazy Cat Lady!’: After Taking In 8 Strays, Model Tiffany Pisani Volunteers At Luqa Sanctuary And Urges Public Support
Tiffany Pisani was going for her evening walk in the outskirts of Naxxar when she came across something that she just couldn’t ignore.
“I saw five kittens dumped in a ditch right in front of me. They weren’t even four weeks old, their eyes weren’t open and they couldn’t even walk,” Tiffany recounted to Lovin Malta.
For Tiffany, who is a self-professed “crazy cat lady”, seeing the little kittens abandoned like that was too much, so she took them in – but that was just the beginning.
She’s since stepped her game up, taking care of eight stray cats living inside and outside of her home, setting up multiple cat traps around her home, helping in the neutering of cats, and started helping the team over at Animal Guardians Sanctuary, in Luqa.
“It started off from feeding stray kittens, and from one it quickly turned into eight,” she laughs.
She’s now dedicating much of her time to helping catch, neuter, and care for stray cats around Malta – and she’s teamed up with one of Malta’s leading sanctuaries.
The former winner of Britain’s Next Top Model just can’t stop praising Karmen from Animal Guardians Malta Sanctuary.
“Karmen over at Animal Guardians has been an absolute diamond. She and her team have over 200 stray cats at her sanctuary, and it’s all volunteer work, and they really need funding,” she says.
‘It’s scary because stray kittens are becoming an epidemic in Malta’
Tiffany has called on the public to support Karmen and her sanctuary as they launch a new Cat Cafe’, where, every Friday afternoon, you can go and have a nice, relaxing drink with stray cats all around you.
If you’d like to donate to Animal Guardians Sanctuary, you can by following this link. Alternatively, visit them on Fridays and Saturdays when they are open to the public.
