A successful fundraiser held by youth organisation JCI Malta over the weekend means that Mater Dei hospital is one step closer to getting its first pet cabin where patients can reunite with their furry, best friend friends. But another big push is needed for the dream to become a reality.
JCI Malta held a 12-hour music marathon at Hard Rock Cafe yesterday featuring several local artists, including Luke Chappell, Relikc and The Velveteens, performing all day long for the worthy cause.
They raised a total of €740 which will go towards finalising the Reunited Pet Cabin cabinet and setting it up for use.
“JCI Malta is proud to have organised this music marathon at Hard Rock Cafe Baystreet,” said JCI Malta’s National President Christoph Schwaiger. “It brought us one step closer to having patients at Mater Dei Hospital be reunited with their pets.”
The pet cabin, which comes with an indoor and outdoor area, is near completion, but needs an extra push in donations to meet the final payments.
“Such projects wouldn’t be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers and partners. JCI Malta remains committed to creating more positive change around the island through this unique project and others in the fields of business and public speaking.”
JCI’s music marathon yesterday is another step forwarding in turning dreams into reality and will finally allow hospital patients to be reunited with their furry friends.
