Good news for all cat lovers! As of 1st October, vouchers for cat feeders are officially being distributed across Malta and Gozo.

In a press conference, Minister Anton Refalo and Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said revealed that over 2,200 cat feeders have been registered to help feed stray cats, with a total of €350,000 allocated for this initiative.

Each Local Council will distribute vouchers to registered cat feeders in their area, ensuring much-needed support for those feeding stray cats daily.

Minister Refalo highlighted how this scheme not only provides assistance but also creates an official registry of cat feeders, showing the government’s commitment to keeping its promises for animal welfare.

Parliamentary Secretary Bugeja Said added that the government is backing the incredible work of cat feeders and will continue to support their efforts to improve the lives of stray cats.

With cat feeders caring for around 36,000 stray cats across Malta and Gozo, the Directorate for the Proper Treatment of Animals encouraged everyone registered to collect their vouchers from their respective Local Councils.

Vouchers can be picked up from today and are valid until the end of October. Let’s keep supporting the paws that need it most!
