“The nest contained a total of 74 eggs. Out of these, 60 hatched successfully and 14 were not fertilised. From the total nest there was an 81% hatch rate. Out of the fertilised eggs, 100% hatched,” the Wildlife Rescue Team wrote.

This is the first hatching of a translocated nest and six more nests are expected to hatch in the coming weeks.

ERA urged the public to exercise caution when being in close proximity to the nest and to keep noise to a minimum.
