Watch: Dolphin Pod Filmed Whistling Gleefully While Easily Outpacing Marsaxlokk Ship
Dolphins have once again been spotted swimming powerfully through the current at the bow of a ship sailing through the waters near Marsaxlokk.
“I’m a sea man working for Miggiani Offshore,” said Ayad Ayad, the sailor who was working aboard his ship when he noticed dolphins at the ship’s bow.
In videos shared with Lovin Malta, as many as five dolphins can be seen swirling majestically around one another, leaping out of the water, and talking to each other in (what sound like, at least) gleeful whistles, clicks and squeals.
Dolphins are often spotted around the Maltese islands, and seem to make a regular habit of showing humans who really owns these seas, by easily catching up with and overtaking our measly sea-faring vessels.
Though dolphins can be very friendly and curious towards people, giving ourselves a refresher about how we should act – and what precautions we should take- when we’re around them, is always helpful.
“I’ve seen dolphins before, but never this close,” said Ayad, before adding an understandably self-satisfied, “It was a very spectacular shot for a video.”
