WATCH: Paralysed Maltese Dog Stealing The Nation’s Heart On His Journey To Recovery

Dogs are sweethearts. Everybody loves them, and if you don’t you’re a monster. They win everyone’s heart with their amazing personality and cute mushy faces.

However, here’s a pup which not only stole our heart, but also made us cry bucketloads in the process.

Bailey is a five-month-old puppy who was rescued earlier this year. His tiny legs were paralysed… all four of them.

“We’re not sure if he was born like this or not. He tries to go out in the yard to attend his needs. It’s like he was trained.”

This precious baby was found in a cardboard box back in August, completely unable to move at first. Now, little Bailey has been making steady progress.

With the help of everyone from Rescued Is My Favorite Breed and dedicated vets, he has been undergoing regular physiotherapy sessions and treatment over the past couple of weeks. Christa Cilia and Louise Arpa are both caring for Bailey along with his foster family.

With the help of everyone who donated to the organisation, tests were run to determine what this adorable pup needs to lead a happy life.

“We don’t have any of Bailey’s medical history and it’s really frustrating for us,” Louise said. “We think that he might’ve been abandoned due to his condition, it might be a degenerative disease. We have no idea.”

“He goes crazy when he sees other dogs. He tries to play with them, we see that he really wants to stand on his legs, he really tries.”

Louise Arpa told us that he’s an extremely happy boy. “He really loves attention, he’s the happiest when people are giving him cuddles or when he gets to be with other dogs,” she told Lovin Malta.

Bailey even found shelter with a local foster family who have opened their home and hearts for this sweet baby.

He had his first swim on the 1st of September where he managed to kick a little bit as he tried to swim. He’s been having regular swimming sessions to help him gain some strength in his muscles.

“He’s the most ecstatic when he’s with children, swimming and playing with other dogs,” she told Lovin Malta.

“He goes crazy when he sees other dogs. He tries to play with them, we see that he really wants to stand on his legs, he really tries,” Louise said.

On the day he even went shopping with his mom and dad and even found a mother in fellow cutie Mercy.

This little guy is clearly a fighter as a video was uploaded of him moving his left leg on his own. Adorable.

“We really need to find a way for him to get back on his feet,” Louise said. “We would be really happy if he managed to move his front legs properly. At least he would get a wheelchair and could move about on his own.”
