Watch: Pet Dog Kills Chicken In San Anton Gardens Resulting In Calls for Responsible Pet Ownership
People were horrified yesterday when a dog, on its leash, escaped from its owners and chased and killed a chicken in San Anton Gardens.
A video uploaded to Expats Malta captured the moment the dog dashed at the chickens and roosters in the garden, starting to chase them.

The situation quickly escalated as the dog caught one of the birds, leaving bystanders horrified by the unfolding events.
The owner’s dog intervened and removed the bird from the dog’s mouth; however, the chicken was left for dead.
A man was heard speaking to the dog’s owners, telling them they should have been looking after their pet, but the owners claimed, “she ran away”.
Many condemned the irresponsible care of the dog, suggesting fines for the owners and expressing concerns about similar incidents in public spaces.
It is not clear whether authorities have addressed this situation
