Watch: Shocking Footage Of Coachman Hitting Horse Leads To Police Investigation Assisted By Animal Welfare
A video shared by Animal Liberation Malta of a coachman hitting his horse sparked an outrage yesterday
In the footage, a karozzin driver was seen striking the horse in the face despite the animal standing still and not doing anything.

The NGO called for Animal Welfare to intervene as they condemned the coachman’s actions, “That’s when karozzini drivers say ‘we love our horses, we treat them like family’. Animal Welfare Malta this people need to be punished as law would treat a cat, a dog or a person abuser!!! We expect nothing less!”
Animal Welfare informed Lovin Malta that it has been informed of the footage and the Directorate has officially asked the police to investigate case and assist in the investigation.
Lovin Malta was also told that Animal Welfare officials are an ongoing schedule, carrying out controls to verify compliance to the provisions of Subsidiary Legislation 439.22 – Use of Karrozzini Regulations in order to safeguard the welfare of horses.
